The Senior Sales Manager reports to the Director of Marketing and Sales, and it is a full-time salaried position with an annualized salary range of $58,000 to $61,000 DOE. We offer generous PTO, Medical, Dental, and Vision with a generous portion of your premium paid, EAP, FSA, 401k, family museum membership, guest passes to the museum, museum store discounts, free parking and/or 20% discount for MARTA unlimited monthly.
This position will lead the Museum’s sales team and efforts with a focus on developing and executing strategies that drive revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Sales, the Senior Sales Manager will be responsible for cultivating new business opportunities, managing and growing existing accounts, and leading a high-performing sales team. This position plays a critical role in supporting the Museum’s mission by generating earned revenue through engaging and educational experiences.
The ideal candidate brings a strong background in hospitality or group sales, strategic thinking, team leadership, and a passion for the role of play in early childhood development.

Sales Strategy & Business Development
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to drive bookings including but not limited to: Museum field trips, Museum On-the-Go programs, memberships, group sales, scout workshops and birthday parties.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through proactive prospecting, networking, and relationship-building.
- Manage and expand existing client relationships to ensure repeat business and long-term partnerships.
- Partner with the Director of Marketing and Sales to develop sales forecasts.
- Provide timely reporting including weekly, month-end, and quarterly updates.
- Track performance against revenue targets and adjust strategies as needed.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for high-profile contacts and key accounts.
- Understand guest needs and tailor offerings to exceed expectations.
- Lead contract negotiations to secure mutually beneficial agreements.
- Collaborate with marketing, operations, and education teams to deliver seamless and exceptional guest experiences.
- Work with internal teams to optimize pricing, packages, and program offerings.
- Mentor and manage direct reports on sales team, including Membership Manager and Manager of Education Sales, fostering a culture of performance, accountability, and collaboration.
- Cultivate and maintain partnerships with local tourism, education, and hospitality organizations.
- Stay current on market trends and recommend strategic adjustments to offerings and outreach efforts.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in sales, with proven success in meeting or exceeding revenue goals.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience managing people
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Comfortable with public speaking and representing the Museum at external events.
- Strong customer service orientation with a results-driven mindset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under deadline pressure.
- Experience in the hospitality or tourism industry.
- Fluency in a second language.
- Familiarity with the early childhood education or nonprofit sector.
