Job Summary
Bridge Scholars Program Tutors support Bridge Scholars with:
Tutoring incoming BSP students in courses specific to BSP
Developing strategies for breaking down projects into achievable tasks
Creating organizational management systems
Identifying areas of procrastination and getting them back on track
Preparing for exams and developing test taking strategies
Making connections on campus and accessing resources
Staying motivated and being accountable
Responsibilities
Training - 25
Will support students in developing good academic skills like study habits, note taking, etc.
Tutoring - 25
Will tutor students in a specific content area that is offered by Bridge during the summer semester and work with instructors to ensure a good grasp on material.
Workshops - 25
Will lead necessary workshops in developing skills with students.
Administrative - 25
Will record and report to assigned instructors to maintain a line of contact to maintain student success.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Experience working in an office setting
- Friendly, engaging and focused
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Educational Qualifications
One or more years enrolled in a university
Preferred Experience
Successful time spent in an academic coaching or tutoring role
Familiarity with BSP
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
ABILITIES
Must be able to support students academically
SKILLS
Need to be able to effectively use a phone and computer
