Job Summary
The Lecturer of Quantitative Management instructs academic courses to benefit the educational mission of the University.
The faculty employee is expected to contribute to the department's educational mission. Faculty will be expected to instruct students in the respective disciplines at the undergraduate level.
This position carries a non-tenure track status.
Responsibilities
Teaching Responsibilities:
Business statistics, business analytics, operations and/or quantitative management, and other core and elective courses as needed.
Conduct regular course meetings and instruction.
Other teaching responsibilities as assigned.
Faculty at Georgia College share the responsibility of teaching our university core curriculum by teaching topical freshman (GC1Y) or sophomore (GC2Y) seminar courses.
Faculty also are expected to demonstrate knowledge of current philosophies, practices, and theories related to their academic discipline.
Faculty Professional Development - 5%
Current work in circulation or in progress, whether academic, practitioner, or popular press;
Grants received or applied for;
Membership and participation in professional organizations;
Other professional service or development activities.
Service to Institution/Public - 10%
All faculty are expected to support the advancement of the department, college and university mission through service to the institution. Service may be at the department, college, university, community and disciplinary level. Duties include service on college-level and university-level committees, advising students regarding career options, and support of department-level outreach activities.
Service to the Institution:
- Committee memberships and offices
- Programs directed and advised
- Participation in special programs or projects
- Other service in the institution
Public Service is often a part of faculty service expectations and might include activities such as the following:
- Consulting work
- Provide continuing education service, instruction, or program development for department, school, college, or university

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Masters degree in business or statistics and 18 graduate credit hours within the teaching discipline are required.
Must meet SCACSCOC accreditation requirements stated in C.S. 3.7.1 (www.sacscoc.org (faculty credentials))
Other Required Qualifications
Demonstrable understanding of Georgia College's mission and enthusiasm for working closely with and mentoring high-achieving students within an academic community dedicated to the advancement of knowledge through learning and scholarship.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to work collegially with others in service to the University.

Required Experience
Successful higher education teaching experience at the undergraduate level within the candidate's area of specialization including statistics, and business analytics.

Seeking faculty who are dedicated to the advancement of knowledge through learning and scholarship.
Evidence of methodological innovation and creative teaching strategies is highly desirable.
Preferred Educational Qualifications
Terminal degree in Management or related field at the time of appointment is preferred.
Preferred Experience
At least one year teaching in discipline at the college level and at least one-year relevant business experience.
