Student Assistant - Public Safety

The student worker will provide educationally beneficial assistance to the Public Safety Department. The student will provide basic security to GC Community during extracurricular activities. Work is supervised and operated in conjunction with the Dept of Public Safety. Students are acting solely as an extension of the department providing extra eyes and ears and safety presence.

Clerical Office Work - 40%
Students will perform clerical office duties such as greeting walk-ins, answering phones, filing, scanning, etc.

Safety/Security - 40%
Student will perform safety escorts, general security details, and property checks

Other duties as Assigned- 20%
Other projects to be completed as needed.

Educational Requirements
High School diploma

Other Required Qualifications
Be awarded Federal Work-Study (FWS) through the Financial Aid Office at GCSU for the current aid year. Federal Work Study awards can be confirmed through the student's PAWS account, Financial Aid, then Award Offer tab. Students who are not awarded FWS can contact the Financial Aid Office to see if they are eligible at financialaid@gcsu.edu.

This position will work in-person up to 19 hours a week

Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment, to take initiative, and to follow through with all responsibilities and assigned tasks. Needs to be able to drive a golf cart.
