Student Orientation Leader

Orientation Leaders are current students who welcome guests and incoming students to campus during one of the summer orientation dates. These students are trained to provide guests with a dynamic experience unlike any other. Students selected to serve as Orientation Leaders will share their personal Georgia College & State University experience from the perspective of a current student, while highlighting the positive aspects of GCSU. The goal is for students to feel at home and ready to jump right into life at GCSU in the fall. Orientation Leaders are responsible for representing the university in a positive manner, showing guests around campus on orientation dates, serving on panels and leading Q&A sessions, and assisting the Assistant Director for New Student Programs and the GCSU Welcome Center with executing an exciting and engaging visit for guests.

Speaking with current students and families during orientation days - 80%
Will be responsible for walking students to breakout academic sessions, checking families in, leading group icebreakers.

Preparation - 20%
Responsibilities include day-of set up (skirting tables, placing directional signs, checking in families) and preparation in the weeks before orientation dates (creating packets to hand out to students and parents, making sure survey gifts are ready to be handed out)

High School diploma

Friendly, Engaging, Able to speak to different areas of campus to groups of various individuals, Represents GCSU well.

Required Experience
Enrolled in an undergraduate program of student at Georgia College & State University.

SKILLS
Need to be able to effectively communicate with guests
