The Department of Community Health is seeking qualified candidates for a Communications Specialist 2 position with the State Health Benefit Plan. Communications Specialist 2 plays a critical role in managing, innovating, and enhancing the State Health Benefit Plan (SHBP)'s web presence and information output. This is a hybrid position that requires in-office and remote work with the approval of the supervisor. The days and frequency in the office can change at any time during employment based on the business needs of the organization. Under general supervision, plans, develops and implements a communications or outreach program, and/or public relations plan for an assigned agency, department, facility or function. Develops informational publications and presentations, and plans conferences and seminars for social or community outreach. Responsible for various communication and website-related tasks to ensure the SHBP outreach goals are met. These tasks include front-end site and content development, overall site management and system updates, trouble shooting, forms development, analytics, and site tracking to provide insight into user behavior and site improvements.
Responsibilities:
- Serves as the SHBP Website Administrator to ensure an effective online presence.
- Regularly updates and maintains the website to ensure content quality, accuracy, and functionality.
- Engages in front-end development to improve the user experience, accessibility, and interface of the website.
- Update website content, ensuring that information remains accurate and informative.
- Develops informational and promotional content, publications, presentations, and e-mails that align communication and outreach strategies
- Manages the Decision Guide development process.
- Identifies and resolves website issues promptly to maintain optimal site performance.
- Collaborates with the DCH Communications Team to ensure that information posted on the website is consistent with broader communication initiatives and aligns with DCH social media activities.
- Creates, maintains, and develops a content calendar/schedule for the website to ensure regular updates and alignment with communication strategies.
- Analyzes website traffic and suggestions to provide insights into user behavior and preferences.
- Develops analytics reporting, using this information to provide recommendations and improve the website's performance and content effectiveness.
- Engage in conference and seminars development for social or community outreach.
- Participate in ongoing training to provide continuing education in SHBP services, website administration and communication.
- Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exceptional professional verbal communication and writing skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with constituents and internal and external executive level professionals.
- Ability to successfully perform web master duties including site administration, content updates, form building and troubleshooting.
- Ability to work outside of normal business hours to assist with escalated issues and to successfully execute job responsibilities.
