What are the responsibilities and job description for the Compliance Investigator position at Georgia Department of Community Health?
The Board of Dentistry is seeking qualified candidates for the Compliance Investigator 2. Under general supervision, the Compliance Investigator 2 will perform administrative duties related to proper processing of complaints filed with the Georgia Board of Dentistry. The Compliance Investigator 2 will maintain an investigative case load requiring issuance of legal process to obtain necessary records/documents needed for case review. The Compliance Investigator will also monitor licensees to ensure compliance with terms of licensure and sanctions.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct investigations related to complaints filed with the Georgia Board of Dentistry regarding, violations of the Georgia Dental Practice Act and Board rules.
- Communicate with licensees, complainants, peer reviewers.
- Acknowledge complaints and respond to status inquiries.
- Assign patient and peer review cases to appropriate consultants.
- Maintain investigative files according to retention period
- Subpoena treatment records, medical records, and other necessary documentation identified during the investigation
- Facilitate review of treatment records by cognizant members
- Utilize software database to create case numbers and track case activities.
- Prepare and submit a monthly status report regarding investigative cases.
- Ensures the confidentiality of information pertaining to complaints and all investigative matters.
- Monitors licensee’s compliance with terms of sanctions imposed by the board

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university OR completion of two years of coursework (90 quarter hrs. or 60 semester hours) at an accredited college or university AND Two years of directly related experience OR One year of experience required at the lower-level Compliance Investigator 1 (PSP080) or position equivalent OR any equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Note: Some positions may require incumbent to have a valid Class C driver's license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3-5 years of investigative experience
- 1 year of regulatory compliance experience
- Experience handling multiple simultaneous competing tasks
- Experience managing multiple differing deadlines
- Knowledge of dental industry
