The Department of Community Health is seeking a Cybersecurity Technician 1 for the Office of Information Technology. This position will participate in information security related projects and ensuring people, processes, and technology aligns with the desired security posture of the organization and is familiar with security needs of the agency and its employees in multiple locations. This is a hybrid position that requires in-office and remote work with the approval of the supervisor. The days and frequency in the office can change at any time during employment based on the business needs of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the qualifications listed above, demonstrate some or all of the following skills/experience:
The preferred candidate will have a Master's degree in information technology, computer science, information assurance, or a related field from an accredited college or university. They will also possess a functional and working knowledge of federal and state computer security and privacy laws, regulations, standards, and controls. To include the HIPAA Final Security Rule, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Risk Management Framework and Special Publications (including 800-53 Moderate-Impact-Baseline) and Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS), and Social Security Administration Technical System Security Requirement Standards (TSSR), FISMA Federal Laws, The Privacy Act of 1974 Regulatory Requirements for the protection of Personally Identifiable Information.EARN MORE THAN A SALARY! - The organization's cybersecurity operations analyst oversees all operational cybersecurity vulnerability assessments, continuous monitoring, and security systems/tools management.
- Monitors computer networks and systems on-prem and cloud for threats and security breaches using Security Incident Event Monitoring (SIEM) tools, firewalls, and endpoint protection software.
- Develop metrics & Reporting to understand the requests of the CISO and Leadership Team members.
- Reviews and evaluates operational and planned technology architecture solutions, systems, projects, and network platforms to ensure that designs and implemented controls meet applicable federal and state technology and cybersecurity requirements and standards.
- Analyze, assess, and review proposed agency and enterprise infrastructure and network management change requests and analyze risks to the department's day-to-day business technology operations. Production architecture changes may include, but are not limited to, LAN/WAN/Cloud security infrastructure changes, network management services changes, managed security services changes, intrusion prevention system changes, firewall changes, e-mail encryption system changes, e-mail and web content filter changes, enterprise application mainframe changes, Microsoft Office 365 and AWS cloud computing changes, etc.
- Ensures that the organization and its third-party service organizations maintain cybersecurity and regulatory compliance standards. Monitors system and infrastructure event and activity log information, compiles compliance and audit reports, ensures compliance with federal and state standards, policies, and procedures, conducts incident response analyses, and develops and conducts training programs.
- Research, analyze, and recommend new information technology and cybersecurity products, services, and solutions.
