The Department of Community Health is seeking a qualified Financial Analyst II, responsible for performing professional accounting duties associated with analyzing, reconciling, and recording financial data. Under general supervision, this position analyzes financial information and prepares financial reports to document or maintain records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss or other financial activities with an agency. This role also evaluates, audits and maintains accounts and transaction processing to ensure GAAP compliance.
- Review and evaluate vendor invoices and supporting documents received to ensure the information is accurate prior to creating vouchers and issuing payments
- Process and enter vendor invoices into TeamWorks Financials
- Track invoice payments utilizing the AP Tracker, follow-up on discrepancies, and monitor activity to ensure completion and timely payments
- Verify entries processed by reviewing team member’s vouchers for accuracy
- Review vouchers on hold and unposted vouchers reports weekly and follow-up
- Maintain financial records in Laserfiche and ensure that the financial transactions are properly recorded to the general ledger
- Distribute mail and invoices to Program staff and reconcile monthly statements
- Request and review monthly vendor invoice statements
- Ability to provide support and respond to requests from auditors, vendors, management, program managers, and team members
- Provide training and assistance to staff on Accounting policies and procedures
- Perform monthly accounts payable reconciliations
- Perform other additional job duties as assigned
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Preference will be given to candidates, who in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed below possess the following:
- Previous work experience in governmental accounting and accounts payable
- Demonstrated experience utilizing Excel at an intermediate level
- Demonstrated good written and oral communication skills, with attention to detail
- Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills with competencies in identifying and analyzing problems
- Demonstrated ability to effectively plan, work and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited supervision and to work effectively with a team in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to make sound and well-informed decisions
- Displays a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment toward completing assignments; highly motivated to achieve and be successful
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with management, staff, other department personnel, and external organizations in a cooperative and professional manner
