This position will report to a Social Services Specialist Supervisor and is located in Danielsville, Madison County, Georgia.

Under limited supervision, the Social Services Technician 1 (CRRU) will:
Support foster, adoptive, and/or relative caregivers based on the strengths and needs of the assigned families. Access community resources and leverage partnerships that support caregivers; maintain basic reports; sensitivity to an awareness of cultural, ethnic and socioeconomic differences and the ability to organize and prioritize work. The incumbent will ensure there is open communication between all persons involved with the caregivers to support the overall provision of service.
Pay Grade: D
Under direct supervision, provides a broad range of paraprofessional social services to clients and their families. Provides information to clients, conducts intakes or assists staff in the delivery of social services.
This position will require the incumbent to be capable of working non-traditional hours and varying shifts.
- Applicants must pass the standard agency testing protocol for the position in which they are hired in order to maintain the position.
- Although agency employees are authorized to telework temporarily, employees are subject to be called into the office as needed and upon request.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Provide support to foster, adoptive, or relative caregivers.
- Attend and assist with recruitment events to include logistics.
- Establish, maintain, and leverage community partnerships needed to support caregivers.
- Keep prospective caregivers engaged during the onboarding process to aid in retention.
- Contact prospective foster caregivers upon completion of IMPACT to assist in gaining access to services needed to complete the onboarding process.
- Make home visits to newly approved caregivers within 48 hours of their first placement.
- Make phone contact within 72 hours of a new placement in an existing foster home.
- Provide direct assist to the caregiver in obtaining services for children entering Georgia.
- Serve as a liaison between caregivers and case managers, providers, and other external partners.
- Link caregivers to community resources.
- Provide increased contacts to foster parents upon initial placement of a child.
- Assist foster caregivers with documentation/applications for services.
- Maintain clear, accurate, and concise documentation of all services and supports provided to caregivers and enter all narratives into the Georgia SHINES data system.
- Provide support to the foster caregiver during moments of crises to stabilize placements.
- Remain knowledgeable about current/emerging demographic and cultural changes to assist customers effectively.
- Use logs, time sheets and case recording to document timely and accurately using computer programs per policy while protecting assigned password/ID.
- Update and maintain policy and procedure manuals with knowledge gained at staff meetings and required trainings.
- Maintains confidentiality of all records and correspondence.
- Engages in required statewide and regional travel.
- High school diploma/GED and one (1) year of experience in a social services-related position.
