Start your career in public service. The Program Specialist is responsible for the development and administration of support service contracts for DFCS Child Welfare programs. This position monitors contractor compliance with federal and state laws, rules and regulations, and departmental guidelines. Also, provides direction and support for the ongoing operation of various Support Service programs, vendor management and provider engagement.

Pay Grade: KUnder broad supervision, develops, processes, approves, and oversees legal contracts and compliance within the guidelines. Monitors performance of assigned contracts.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Coordinates implementation of a high volume of contracts for the provision of social, therapeutic, & behavioral health services.
- Performs research, evaluation, and analysis for monitoring vendor performance for compliance of contracts.
- Develops and implements contracting policies and procedures; recommends improvements to existing policy/procedure.
- May serve as lead staff
- Provides technical assistance/training to assigned staff, external service providers and interdepartmental stakeholders.
- Monitor and audit Provider contractual compliance
- High school diploma/GED and six (6) years of contracting job-related experience;
- Two (2) years of experience required at the lower-level Contracts Administrator 2 (LEP031) or position equivalent.
Note: An equivalent combination of knowledge, education, job or intern experience, training, or certifications that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted year-over-year.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, demonstrate some or all of the following skills/experience:
- Three (3) years' experience in lead worker role.
- Familiarity with DFCS Child Welfare support service program requirements, Georgia SHINES and/or ARGO systems.
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities.
- Excellent writing, analytical, and public speaking skills.
