Division of Family & Children Services (DFCS), Office of Family Independence (OFI) is seeking candidates for the position Eligibility Associate within The Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) subsidized program. This is a time-limited position, up to 24 months. This position is located in Statesboro, Bulloch County Georgia.

Pay Grade: DUnder direct supervision, answers customer problems and inquiry calls. Records problem history information. Performs first level problem determination and resolution.
The Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) subsidized program is a state work experience program designed to provide those who meet TANF eligibility requirements with real life work experience. Interested applicants are not required to currently or have ever received TANF benefits; however, must meet the eligibility requirement. TANF eligibility requirements are: one qualifying child under the age of 18 and gross household income under the 300% Federal Poverty Level guideline for household size. This program is not geared for long term employment. These positions are time-limited and based on available funding.
Job Responsibility:
- Performs general office management duties, including keyboarding, filing, generating, and managing correspondence.
- Provides / coordinates services to clients, families and partners that call or visit the local office.
- Provides follow-up and /or customer service to resolve any issues
- Receives and routes telephone communications as required
- Screens and registers applications for all OFI Eligibility programs offered as required
- Routinely uses electronic application, Document Imaging, and eligibility systems.
- Maintains confidential records
- Uses Microsoft Office Suite and/or standard software applications typically used in a corporate office environment to perform daily work assignments.
- Performs other professional responsibilities as assigned.
- High school diploma/GED and six (6) months of related customer contact/interaction experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the TANF eligibility requirements, the minimum qualifications and demonstrates some or all the following skills/experience:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, to include Word and Excel and/or standard software applications typically used in a corporate office environment.
