Start your career in public service. The Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS), Office of Family Impendence (OFI), is seeking candidates for the position of Eligibility Specialist Supervisor. This position reports to an Eligibility Services Administrator for Fulton County, GA.
Provide direct supervision and plans work of a team/unit of Eligibility Specialist determining program eligibility for the senior population. Assists in the development of uniform policy interpretations, securing services and timely benefits, and evaluating quality. Maintains a system of management to monitor quality, quantity, and timeliness of benefits.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Provides direct supervision and support to assigned team/unit of Eligibility Specialists.
- Analyzes and assesses the effectiveness of services provided to customers in addition to assigned programmatic responsibilities to ensure the identified outcome measures are achieved.
- Ensures agency compliance with policies, appropriate documentation, and reporting requirements.
- Develops and encourages a cooperative team-oriented environment within units(s) and with other agencies and providers.
- Assess assigned staff performance and provide ongoing development and training.
- Interviews, hires, directs, trains. and evaluates employees job performance; recommends employee disciplinary and discharge actions as appropriate.
- Leads and administers a comprehensive system of customer support and public assistance.
- Performs other professional responsibilities as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Two years of related experience, One year of which in a supervisory or team lead role.
- High school diploma or GED AND Four years of related experience, One year of which in a supervisory or team lead role.
- One year of experience at the lower level Eligibility Spec 3 (SST072) or position equivalent.
Agency Specific Qualifications:
- Two (2) years of experience at lower level Eligibility Specialist 2/3 with GA DFCS.
- Trained AND worked in two (2) OR three (3) OFI programs.
- Must be Gateway eligibility system trained.
