Start your career in public service. The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS), the Division of Child Support Services (DCSS) is the division within DHS that enhances the well-being of children by locating non-custodial parents; establishing paternity and support orders, enforcing and modifying support obligations,and  collecting and distributing child support payments. This program promotes parent accountability and self-sufficiency while reducing the public responsibility for providing financial and medical support to children. DCSS also administers several outreach programs, including but not limited to Fatherhood, Prison Re-Entry, and Parental Accountability Court. These outreach initiatives are devoted to increasing non-custodial parental involvement in the child's life. 

DCSS is seeking candidates for the position of Manager, Child Support Services, which is based at the DCSS office in Morrow, Clayton County, GA.

Pay Grade: K

Manages the development and administration of a child support branch office, including establishing and enforcing support orders, and investigative, compliance, legal, and clerical support activities. Child Support Services Managers have department-wide responsibilities for various child support programs and, as members of the division's management team, help determine the division's overall direction. Directs subordinate supervisors and staff.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Plans, administers, and maintains the operation of child support services programs
• Analyzes and assesses the effectiveness of existing programs to ensure the identified outcome measures are achieved
• Assures agency compliance with policies, appropriate documentation, and reporting requirements
• Builds and encourages a cooperative team-oriented environment within unit(s) and with
• other agencies and providers
• Interviews, hires, directs, trains, evaluates the performance of, and when necessary, disciplines and discharges social services employees
• Manages human resources and directs administrative activities
• Reviews new and current programs to determine their efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with state, local, and federal regulations

• Bachelor's degree in a related area from an accredited college or university AND two (2) years of subordinate supervisory experience in a human service delivery program or related program; 

• Two (2) years of experience at the lower level Child Support Services Supervisor (SST064) or position equivalent; 

• Four (4) years of experience at the lower level Child Support Svcs Agent 3 (SST062); 

• Three (3) years of experience at the lower level Child Support Svcs Agent 4 (SST063).
