Under limited supervision, the Caregiver Recruitment and Retention Specialist I has the ability to assess individual and family strengths, limitations and needs; non-judgmental, strength based, positive attitude towards families in crisis; ability to synthesize information and write thorough reports; ability to work independently and as an effective team member; sensitivity to an awareness of cultural, ethnic and socioeconomic differences and the ability to organize and prioritize work.
Must have reliable transportation, proof of auto insurance, a valid state-issued driver’s license and an acceptable driving history record.

Job Description

Under limited supervision, the Caregiver Recruitment and Retention Specialist I has the ability to assess individual and family strengths, limitations and needs; non-judgmental, strength based, positive attitude towards families in crisis; ability to synthesize information and write thorough reports; ability to work independently and as an effective team member; sensitivity to an awareness of cultural, ethnic and socioeconomic differences and the ability to organize and prioritize work.
- Recruit prospective caregivers through direct and indirect marketing concepts.
- Implement both general and targeted recruitment activities throughout the region.
- Responsible for the facilitation and tracking of all prospective caregivers through the onboarding process.
- Facilitation as primary or co-facilitator of IMPACT Pre-Service Training at least once quarterly
- Completion of comprehensive family assessments in accordance with policy standards.
- Manage a caseload of up to 30 caregivers – conducts all required monthly/quarterly contacts and annual re-evaluations.
- Maintain clear, accurate, and concise documentation; ensure all documentation is entered within 72 hours of contact.
- Conducts needs assessment, service provision, and advocacy caregivers.
- Complete all required screenings and assessments on new household members.
- Complete all ICPC assessments within required timeframes.
- Connect caregivers with a Caregiver Support Tech within 48 hours of approval.
- Identify placement for youth in care.
- Remain knowledgeable about current/emerging demographic and cultural changes to assist customers effectively.
- Adhere to all agency policy governing children and the rights of the caregivers.
- Promotes awareness of programs within the assigned communities – leverage partnership with community agencies to maximize services and supports for caregivers.
- Participate in Placement Resource Engagement Meetings with Child Placing Agency and other Community partners to strategize recruitment efforts.
- Performs other professional responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
- Engage in required statewide and regional travel
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse families.
- Ability to leverage partnerships within the community.
- Strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and/or standard software applications typically used in a corporate office environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in behavioral science from an approved accredited college or university and twenty four (24) months of case management experience in a social services program of the Division of Family and Children Services
- Educational achievement does not substitute for required case management experience.
- Master’s degree from an approved accredited college or university and twenty four (24) months of case management experience in a social services program of the Division of Family and Children Services or similar social services case management experience in a human services delivery program (child support, family/children services, juvenile justice, public health, mental health, military health care/morale, welfare and recreation, or comparable private social services agencies)
