This position works with participants to assess personal strengths, navigate educational and workforce options, and develop individualized plans to achieve educational and employment goals, develop work readiness competencies, find work-based experiences, provides referrals to jobs and makes connections to secure and maintain gainful employment.

Pay Grade: JUnder broad supervision, plans, manages, and evaluates social services programs. Administers and coordinates the services and program activities in dependency, mental illness, youth development, or physical or developmental disability programs. May also act as a lead worker.
Job Responsibilities:
- Determine youth eligibility, provide program orientation, complete objective assessments and individualized employment plans.
- Provide referrals to appropriate community service or social service agencies when needed.
- Develop supportive relationships with a cohort of vulnerable youth and connect youth to new experiences.
- Provide tools to youth to assist with decision making and expose youth to participation in strength and needs assessments and goal setting.
- Meet regularly with youth to build a rapport and develop and assess career related goals and identify steps to achieve goals for their career plan.
- Provide continuous coaching and mentoring.
- Support youth to pursue employment and career experiences.
- Perform outreach to community partners, businesses, and organizations to create internship and/or apprenticeship opportunities for youth.
- Assist youth to identify appropriate post-secondary educational, training and employment opportunities that will help to reach their goals
- Maintain and grow business relationships.
- Support youth to pursue employment through leads, resume development and mock interviews.
- Support youth and employer relationships to promote successful job placement and retention.
- Maintain detailed records to document services and success of youth and track meetings.
- Facilitate and coordinate workshops related to career exploration, career education, career development, job seeking skills, and employment maintenance skills.
- Coach youth participants on handling work-related issues and promote self-advocacy.
- Assist youth in obtaining important vital documents needed for employment to include working with Georgia DDS to obtain youth state ID.
- Ability to engage and understand the needs of foster youth.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of job-related experience.
OR
- Two (2) years' experience at the lower level Social Svcs Prgm Coord 2 (SSP031) or equivalent position.
Note: Some positions require eligibility for licensure.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, demonstrate some or all of the following skills/experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or associate degree with two years’ experience in a related field with at least one year’s experience working with computer systems for data entry and data review.
- Experience in working with diverse populations in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability and flexibility to work at various hours.
- Develop effective working relationships and work well as part of a team to achieve organizational goals.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to complete paperwork and data maintenance on a timely basis.
- Proficient in MS Office Proficient with Microsoft Office – Excel proficiency is a must.
- Knowledgeable regarding local occupational, educational, and labor market information.
- Previous experience in workforce development and/or career counseling is preferred.
- Previous case management experience is preferred
