Job Description: Ophthalmic Technician
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will be responsible for assisting ophthalmologists in diagnosing and treating eye diseases and disorders. You will work closely with patients to obtain medical histories, perform diagnostic tests, and provide support during procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Obtain patient medical histories and perform preliminary eye exams
- Conduct diagnostic tests such as visual acuity, tonometry, and refractometry
- Assist ophthalmologists during procedures such as eye exams, surgeries, and laser treatments
- Administer eye drops and medications as directed by the ophthalmologist
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
- Clean and maintain ophthalmic equipment and instruments
- Educate patients on proper eye care and contact lens use
