Industrial Maintenance Technician

Job Summary

An experienced maintenance technician is sought for a direct hire by a leading specialty wood products manufacturing organization.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs of industrial wood processing equipment as well as facility maintenance.

Responsibilities and Duties

Troubleshoot and repair production equipment, administer preventative maintenance programs, and procedures.

Inspect equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.

Maintain and repair motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machinery.

Perform predictive and preventative maintenance programs.

Evaluate and convey the importance of safety in all departments as part of the corporate culture.

Candidates must pass a background check.

Working Conditions

Ability to communicate effectively in an industrial setting at a moderate noise level.

Required to stand and walk on a concrete surface for 8 hours per day.

Occasional requirement to reach, climb, or balance, stoop, crouch, or crawl.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications and Skills

Requirements include:

A basic understanding of electronics and mechanics.

A working knowledge of mechanical systems such as pneumatics, hydraulics, welding, plant equipment, air compressors, etc.

A working knowledge of electrical systems such as PLCs, drives, servos, motors, plant electrical, control panels, welding, cutting, or other metal fabrications.

Ability to use precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, feeler gauges, and dial indicators.

A strong knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance. Proven technical aptitude, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.

At least two years of mechanical experience on CNC machines or industrial equipment. Aircraft/helicopter mechanics are also acceptable.
