To support the financial management and operations of the Credit Union through maintenance of accounting records and reports; perform a wide variety of advanced accounting work under minimal supervision; direct and check work of lower level accounting clerks. A/P Knowledge
Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Performs duties of lower level accounting clerks to include: Posting of journal entries, processing payments, verifying information, filing, and assisting in preparation of reports; reconciling Credit Union transaction accounts, posting to and balancing general or subsidiary ledgers, compiling segments of monthly closings.

Prepares reports on complex budget or income and expenditures records; prepares special reports exercising considerable initiative in arranging details to obtain end objectives.

Reviews lower level accounting clerks' work assignments for accuracy and completeness.

Assists lower level accounting clerks with their work, directing them at times and helping them solve problems they encounter.

Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements
Prepare all reports within the prescribed time frame with zero unresolved errors.
Keep all assigned general ledger accounts current and in balance daily.
Provide helpful, informative assistance to other accounting clerks within the department.
Provide assistance to management with accounting-related activities and budget preparation.
Provide helpful and informative service and support to all members and associates.
Experience
Knowledge and Skills:
Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
Education
Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.

Education
- A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., information technology certifications in lieu of a degree). Prior banking experience is preferred.

Other Skills
