- Ensuring the availability, performance, security, and integrity of databases, including
- Aurora Postgres, SQL Server RDS, Self-Managed SQL Server, and MongoDB
- Database Administration : Manage and administer the AWS-based databases,
- including Aurora Postgres, SQL Server RDS, Self-Managed SQL Server, and
- MongoDB, ensuring high availability and data integrity.
- Performance Optimization : Monitor and tune the performance of databases to
- maintain optimal efficiency and responsiveness, addressing performance bottlenecks
- proactively.
- Backup and Recovery : Implement and oversee database backup and recovery
- strategies, ensuring data is protected and can be restored as needed.
- Database Security : Implement and enforce security measures, access controls, and
- encryption protocols to protect sensitive data stored in the databases.
- Database Upgrades and Patching : Plan and execute database upgrades and patching,
- staying current with the latest releases and security fixes.
- Disaster Recovery : Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans for the databases,
- including failover and replication mechanisms.
- Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution : Identify and resolve database-related issues,
- working closely with development teams and other stakeholders to troubleshoot and
- resolve problems.
- Data Migration : Assist with database migration efforts, ensuring smooth data transfer
- and minimal downtime during migrations.
- Documentation : Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations,
- procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Automation : Identify opportunities for automation in database administration tasks
- and develop scripts or tools to streamline repetitive processes.
- Cloud Best Practices : Stay informed about AWS cloud best practices and
- recommendations, implementing these practices in database management.
- Compliance and Auditing : Ensure that databases adhere to regulatory compliance
- standards and participate in audits as needed.
