• Ensuring the availability, performance, security, and integrity of databases, including
• Aurora Postgres, SQL Server RDS, Self-Managed SQL Server, and MongoDB
• Database Administration : Manage and administer the AWS-based databases,
• including Aurora Postgres, SQL Server RDS, Self-Managed SQL Server, and
• MongoDB, ensuring high availability and data integrity.
• Performance Optimization : Monitor and tune the performance of databases to
• maintain optimal efficiency and responsiveness, addressing performance bottlenecks
• proactively.
• Backup and Recovery : Implement and oversee database backup and recovery
• strategies, ensuring data is protected and can be restored as needed.
• Database Security : Implement and enforce security measures, access controls, and
• encryption protocols to protect sensitive data stored in the databases.
• Database Upgrades and Patching : Plan and execute database upgrades and patching,
• staying current with the latest releases and security fixes.
• Disaster Recovery : Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans for the databases,
• including failover and replication mechanisms.
• Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution : Identify and resolve database-related issues,
• working closely with development teams and other stakeholders to troubleshoot and
• resolve problems.
• Data Migration : Assist with database migration efforts, ensuring smooth data transfer
• and minimal downtime during migrations.
• Documentation : Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations,
• procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Automation : Identify opportunities for automation in database administration tasks
• and develop scripts or tools to streamline repetitive processes.
• Cloud Best Practices : Stay informed about AWS cloud best practices and
• recommendations, implementing these practices in database management.
• Compliance and Auditing : Ensure that databases adhere to regulatory compliance
• standards and participate in audits as needed.
