Software Engineer - C# .NET Developer
Location : Pratt Street - Baltimore, MD 21202 (Onsite 2 days a week, preferably Monday and Thursday)
Duration : 6 months
Technical Skills :
Primary Language : C# / .NET (legacy applications)
Database : SQL (required)
Cloud : AWS (preferred), contributing towards new buildout
Frontend : React (nice to have)
Experience : Financial services, fixed income markets, security, and analytics background (huge plus)
Requirements :
Education : BS or MS Degree in a technical discipline with 5 years of demonstrated hands-on software engineering experience (additional experience may substitute for a degree).
Programming Languages : Experience in at least one modern programming language (C# / .NET preferred).
APIs : Experience developing (or a desire to learn) APIs.
Databases : Knowledge of SQL, Relational Database Concepts, and Stored Procedures.
Cloud : Experience building applications and deploying to public or private clouds (AWS, Microsoft Azure, or similar providers preferred).
Analytics : Reporting and Analytics experience (preferred).
Development Practices : Strong Test-Driven Development and a desire to write simple, adaptive, and iterative code.
Team Dynamics : Experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced, Agile team environment.
Learning : Enthusiasm for learning and results-oriented.
Expertise : In-depth knowledge in your job discipline and working knowledge of related disciplines.
Technologies : Stays up to date with new technologies.
Multi-Language Proficiency : Comfortable programming in several languages (C# / .NET preferred).
Quality Focus : Dedication to implementing software using unit / integration and acceptance testing.
Data Modeling : Develops data models / schemas and understands key concepts like ACID, normalization, and transactions.
Debugging : Debugs large components with limited assistance and assists other engineers.
API Design : Designs and develops practical APIs and abstractions.
Qualifications :
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in C# .NET development .
Proficiency in SQL and relational database concepts.
Exposure to AWS is a strong advantage.
Experience in React is a plus.
Familiarity with financial services, fixed income markets, or security analytics is a huge plus.
Demonstrates enthusiasm for learning and working in an Agile team environment .
Strong communication skills and ability to work onsite in Baltimore, MD, in a hybrid capacity.
Key Responsibilities :
Develop and maintain applications using C# .NET .
Work with SQL databases to design and optimize queries, stored procedures, and schemas.
Contribute to building new solutions, with a preference for knowledge in AWS .
Collaborate with a team of 6-7 Software Engineers and Business Analysts.
Optional but valued contributions in React for UI components.
Apply experience in financial services, fixed income markets, and analytics (preferred).
