Georgia Legal Services seeks a staff attorney to work in its Columbus office. Columbus is the hub of Southwest Georgia for culture, shopping, education, healthcare, and recreation. Columbus is a great place to live, work and play.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Litigate cases in administrative, state and federal forums;
- Circuit riding to assigned counties;
- Draft briefs, motions, and memoranda;
- Conduct community legal education sessions and engage in outreach activities; and
- Participate on action teams that explore and solve systemic issues affecting clients.
Requirements
Qualifications :
The salary range is $58,250-$77,200, and can be higher depending upon experience and qualifications. Salaries increase annually based on a salary scale. In addition, attorneys who pass GLSP's Spanish proficiency test receive additional compensation. GLSP offers excellent fringe benefits including generous health and life insurance benefits; 13 paid holidays, 3 weeks of annual leave, and 3 weeks of sick leave; educational loan reimbursement up to $600 per month (after $65 deductible and other requirements met); CLE expenses; and Georgia Bar dues.
