GENERAL DESCRIPTION/POSITION SUMMARY:
The Agricultural Program Assistant II shall assist the Agricultural Program Coordinator and the Agricultural/Youth Director in the daily operations of the Livestock Department. Perform administrative and programmatic support services and activities related to program operation to enhance organizational efficiency and productivity of The Livestock Department. Maintains current departmental documents; composes, drafts, and edits correspondence, reports, contracts, and proposals; assists in the preparation of monthly reports; prepares various reports.
TYPICAL WORK ROUTINE INCLUDES, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
Georgia National Fair and Livestock Events Preparation and Administration:
The Agricultural Program Assistant II shall be knowledgeable in all livestock shows and rental events related procedures established by the Georgia National Fairgrounds. The Agricultural Program Assistant II shall be prepared to interact with fellow employees and clients about policies, procedures, and overall operating guidelines for the Agricenter. The Agricultural Program Assistant II shall maintain a responsible attitude and maintain an excellent public image. Any other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by your supervisor.

TYPICAL WORK ROUTINE INCLUDES, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
Georgia National Fair and Livestock Events Preparation and Administration:
- Assist in creating printed materials (premium books, premium lists, brochures, ads for breed publications, etc.)
- Assist with administration of Livestock Credentials Office at the Fair
- determining numbers of credentials to order from ticket office
- balancing money at end of each day
- Assist with administration of show office processes (includes becoming proficient with fair management software)
- Organizing files, Help with purchasing of awards & supplies
- Entry processing, Report generation
- Premium check processing & printing
- Fielding phone calls concerning entries
- Help handle correspondence pertinent to Fair and Livestock Show
- Process contracts, as well as addendums and insurance certificates for vendors booked for horse/livestock rental events
- Process and distribute setup sheets with pertinent setup information for vendors
- Field phone calls concerning rentals and/or vendors for rental events
- Balance shavings sales receipts and monies after each rental event and after the Fair and Livestock Show

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required; minimum (3) years of administrative experience coupled with (1) year experience working with a major program; (3) years’ experience using computers, coupled with (2) years in database management.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds on a routine basis.
- A valid driver’s license is required
- Ability to meet and interact with the general public while maintaining a personable yet professional manners.
- Ability to follow directions with minimum instructions.
- Ability to demonstrate leadership skills.
- Computer experience with the following software applications preferred: word processing,spreadsheet, database, and desktop publishing.
- Experience with livestock shows and/or events (i.e., 4-H or FFA livestock projects) and/or business office experience preferred.
