Job Summary:
Georgia Northwestern Technical College is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Financial Aid Systems Coordinator to be located on the Floyd County Campus and occasional travel to other GNTC campuses as well as overnight travel for training may be required. In conjunction with the Assistant Director of Financial Aid and the Director of Financial Aid, this position is responsible for the scheduled processing and the reporting of the financial aid data that is used to award and disburse funds to students.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Reviews student financial aid internal processes and procedures; identifies the processes and procedures strengths, weaknesses and challenges, makes related recommendations to improve efficiency.
- Imports FAFSA data into the Banner Database and performs multiple data load processes for packaging, sending missing document notifications and award letters.
- Exports/Imports State files to and from SURFER and performs multiple data load processes for packaging and disbursing state funds.
- Responsible for sending Exit Counseling Notifications and materials to students via regular mail.
- Sends the required Disbursement Notifications to students who have received Direct Loans.
- Assist in the weekly, monthly, and annual reconciliation of Federal and State funds. * Identifies rejected origination, disbursement and invoice files.
- Performs scheduled repackaging of funds.
- Running and sending reports to other departments to help identify areas of conflicting information or areas that prevent awarding of student funds. * * Completes special projects and ad hoc reports as assigned. * * Other duties assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college in business, computer science, or a related field and one (1) or more year of financial aid experience *OR* an Associate degree from a regionally accredited college in business or a related field and three (3) or more years of financial aid experience..
Preferred Qualifications:
Five (5) or more years of financial aid experience. Experience with the Banner Student Information Systems. Experience running processes, creating population selections, and creating SQL scripts.
Physical Demands:
Work is typically performed in a classroom or office environment with intermittent sitting, standing, or walking in various settings. The employee occasionally lifts or moves objects to a light to medium weight. Full range of hand and finger motion may be utilized for data entry purposes. If the job involves driving, physical requirements include the ability to operate a vehicle and sit for extended periods.
Salary: $50,000 - $55,000
Benefits:
If this is a part-time position, no benefits are available.
