Logistics Supervisor

Description

SUMMARY

The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for managing the inbound and outbound freight for GNC facilities. Oversee the aspects of logistics, including transportation, inventory, and distribution to ensure efficient and cost-effective operation.  Collaborate with carriers, freight forwarders, and 3PLs to optimize shipping routes and costs. Effectively achieve department KPIs while monitoring performance results to communicate throughout the GNC organization.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Identify and mitigate supply chain transportation and distribution risks.
• Analyze logistics data to identify freight cost trends and inefficiencies.
• Be a resource for our external customers on freight quotes and transit times. 
• Coordinate the transportation of inbound/outbound shipments.
• Responsible for On Time In Full (OTIF) KPI.
• Proactively monitor available inventory to meet required delivery date.
• Follow all customer requested routing instructions, including required data entry through customer VMI portal.
• Communicate any carrier problems that will delay the arrival of a shipment with customer service.
• Confirm COA (certificate of analysis) is available for outbound Sales Orders; provide copies to CS/brokers on request.
• Make carrier arrangements for Return Material Authorization (RMA) as directed by the CS Supervisor.
• Main contact for common/contract carriers for scheduling outbound shipments to meet required delivery date.
• Generate and maintain outbound appointment log.
• Manage Logistics budget and expense, identifying cost saving opportunities while ensuring financial efficiency in operations.
• Establish and maintain GNC transportation vendor and customer arranged carrier relationships.
• Communicate daily OTIF report with CS and Accounts Receivable (AR), highlighting Past Due Sales Orders.
• Manage the monthly KPI report on prepaid shipments and surcharges.
• Meet monthly KPI goal regarding pre-paid shipments.
• Resolve all claims for GNC arranged freight.
• Collect and track all invoicing on outbound shipments on a spreadsheet.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• Experience with VMI portals.
• Food industry experience.
• Excellent Time Management skill.
• Proficient communication skills.
• Associates degree and/or minimum of 5 years of experience in Logistics position.
• Ability to focus during peak periods.

Salary : $80,000 - $95,000
