Job Overview
Under the supervision of the Assistant Manager of HR Administration, the Human Resources Generalist performs a variety of clerical, administrative, and technical tasks in the areas of employment, employee relations, and training.
Upholds the values of the GPA to promote Safety, Integrity, Respect, Community, Creativity and Opportunity. Promotes a safe work environment by participating in safety initiatives and reporting unsafe conditions and behaviors.
Job Duties
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Knowledge of general office procedures as they relate to an HR department.Knowledge of computer software, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite.Strong verbal, written, and mathematical skills are required.The ability to interact and communicate effectively and professionally with the GPA staff on all levels of administration including immediate supervisor, management, and co-workers required.Ability to handle confidential information.Ability to plan, organize, and execute high volumes of work.

Job Duties
- Maintains all employee records on active employees to include current information such as salary, job title, class, employment, and benefit dates, state and federal withholding forms, immigration forms, evaluations, and other applicable information.
- Maintains files on former employees and coordinates unemployment data when necessary.
- Completes data input sheets which include new hires, terminations, transfers, reinstatements, promotions, title and salary changes, changes in status, address changes, tax changes, etc. Inputs information into FileNet, HR, and ADP Payroll.
- Handles general correspondence, leave letters, employment verifications, requisitions, check requests, expense reports, and scans documents.
- Handles recruitment advertising for job openings, both internal and external. Process applicants' reference checks. Produces correspondence and maintains applicant files.
- Schedules physicals with candidates, Risk Management, and Employee Health Services.
- Responsible for setup and breakdown of new hire orientation. Creates and processes new employee documents during orientation to ensure that all necessary documentation is completed.
- Handles inquiries from employees, applicants, and outside agencies in a prompt and courteous manner. Provides any allowable information and directs any further inquiries to the appropriate manager.
- Responsible for scheduling interviews and sending applicants assessments as needed.

Experience
- 3 to 5 years of current experience in Human Resources Required
- Required High School Diploma or equivalent
- Preferred Four year college degree in human resources, business administration, or related field highly
- TWIC - Transportation Worker Identification Credential Required
- Driver's License - Valid state driver's license Required
