The position is open to all applicants that meet the minimum qualifications below. It is a contractor role.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG), Office of Quick Start, is seeking a creative and experienced programmer to create and maintain interactive training and learning modules to be used in workforce training projects for various manufacturing and distribution sectors. The chosen applicant will work closely with instructional designers, subject matter experts, 3D animators and training developers to tailor eLearning modules to fulfill specific learning objectives. The programmer will coordinate with 3D animators create actions imitating real-life job tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
· Work with project team to storyboard educational content into effective and user-friendly interactive training to be delivered in digital platforms
· Program and code actions and scripts to three dimensional virtual environments to mimic tasks conducted in real industrial settings
· Provide prototyping for proof of concept at early-stage review for team input and approval.
· Test, troubleshoot, and refine applications based on user feedback
· Attend team meetings and share ideas
· Recommend and develop scenarios to replicate processes and tasks to be performed in working environments
· Create progress indicators, navigation schemes, progress bars or other solutions allowing trainers and trainees to track time and movement through a simulation.
· Program test activities to be collected for assessment for trainees.
· Collaborate with database engineer to create functional coding that effectively links eLearning modules to back-end databases designed to capture relevant data measuring trainee proficiency
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Proficient in game design software, such as Unity, Unreal Engine and GameMaker
· Associates Degree in Game Programming, Game Design, Game Development, Instructional Design, Web Development, or a related field, or relevant certification
· Three (3) years of professional experience in game design/development, or a robust portfolio with professional references to replace work experience requirement for recent graduates from relevant degree programs
· Portfolio of work products
· Proficient in programming languages, such as C , C#, Java, Javascript, HTML5 and Python
· Analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Communication and collaboration abilities.
- Organizational and time management skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Five (5) years working hands-on in Game Programming, Game Design, Game Development, Instructional Design, Web Development, development of digital content.
· Credentials in Instructional Design/Technology, Education, Information Technology, Web design implementing coding
· High level proficiency in C , C#, Java, Javascript, HTML5 and Python
· Adobe Creative Suite
