Instructor is responsible for performing all aspects of instruction for the Commercial Truck Driving program. The responsibilities of this position relate to day, evening and online programs, with regards to traditional and dual enrolled students.

Safety/Technology · Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the discipline Commercial Truck Driving program in Carrollton. · Supports faculty to ensure all equipment is in working order · Suggests new/updated technology to remain current with trends and developments within the field. · Ensure students are instructed in and follow all safety rules for operating equipment and using tools. · Ensure classrooms and work areas are properly cleaned and maintained at all times · |

Curriculum/Student and Program Learning Outcomes · Develops program curriculum, syllabi, goals and objectives · Prepares lesson plans for instruction · Works collaboratively with faculty within discipline to establish, measure and evaluate program or departmental student learning outcomes for continuous student improvement and success and submits to appropriate program chair/director. · Submits reports and data with respect to accrediting bodies · Reviews and edits master course shells in the online learning platform as necessary. |

Supports Program Director/Division Deans/Associate Deans · Requests and maintains supplies and equipment · Prepares budget requests · Assists with recruitment, retention and job placement efforts · Serves on committees and project assignments as necessary · Performs other duties as assigned. |

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move classroom/lab equipment and supplies, up to 25 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time instructional position. Work load is Monday-Friday day/evening hours. Weekends based on need.
Travel
Travel to other campuses is a possibility for teaching assignments, meetings, trainings, and professional development.
Required Education and Experience
- Certificate in Commercial Truck Driving from an accredited institution and/or three (3) years out of the past seven (7) years of over-the-road (OTR) experience.
- Current Georgia Class A CTDL License
- Clean MVR for past seven (7) years
- Current DOT Medical Card
- Successful candidate must pass an FMCSA drug test and will be subject to all FMCSA drug testing rules and regulations.
Preferred Education and Experience
• Accredited Industry Training
• Directly Related Teaching experience at the post-secondary level
• Knowledge and experience in the use of the Internet, Email, Windows, Microsoft Office, KMS, Blackboard, Banner, TaskStream
• Certified State of Georgia DDS tester
• 10 years over the road experience
