This job is a Federal Work Study, non-benefited position in the Office of Student Success that reports to the Student Success Manager. Federal Work-Study (FWS) is a federally funded program by the Department of Education. This program provides part-time jobs for undergraduate students with significant financial need and is administered by the FWS Coordinator, and the Office of Financial Aid, in accordance with the law, federal regulations, and instructions from the United States Department of Education.
Salary: $13.50 per hour.
Hours: Days and Hours are flexible up to 19 hours per week during business hours.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be eligible for funds through the Federal Work Study Program for the current semester at Gwinnett Technical College and be in good academic standing.
Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to the minimum qualifications, one year of office experience. Microsoft Office Suite proficiency preferred.
Additional knowledge, skills and abilities need to be successful include the ability to manage a variety of tasks. Must be organized and detail oriented, team oriented, able to follow instructions, work independently, abide by confidentiality policy, be dependable and professional. Demonstrated exceptional customer service skills a must. Must feel comfortable speaking and directing students.
Job Description Summary:
Under supervision, provides office/clerical support and office assistance to the Student Success Team. Job duties include but are not limited to operating office equipment, making copies, hanging up flyers, assisting with New Student Orientations (on both the Lawrenceville and Alpharetta Campus) assisting with Student Success Workshops and greeting students as they arrive in our office suite and providing general campus resource information.
