What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Program Manager - Coordinated Federal Programs position at Georgia state government?
The Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) – Office of Federal Programs is recruiting for two Coordinated Federal Program Senior Managers. This position works closely with ESSA Directors and GaDOE staff to lead coordinated and streamlined service and support initiatives for local education agencies (LEAs) implementing federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) formula grants (Title I, Part A; Title II, Part A; Title III, Part A; Title IV, Part A; Title V, Part B)
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide management and oversight of multiple federal grants included in the coordinated service and support model
- Lead team in implementing a streamlined service and support model, where specialists serve as the LEA’s single point of contact for multiple federal programs while providing coordinated support focusing on continuous improvement
- Supervise staff using current and widely accepted management principles to maximize human, financial, and technical resources
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency and alignment across programs in the key components of a structured grant cycle (i.e., plans, budgets, monitoring, and other statutory requirements) for multiple federal programs
- Collaborate with colleagues to proactively develop and deliver high-quality training and technical assistance to LEAs
- Collaborate with colleagues to design and build resources and guidance documents to support LEAs with federal grant cycle topics and the continuous improvement process.
- Maintain clear and positive communication between divisions/units at GaDOE and with LEAs.
- Prepare accurate reports and other documents that communicate clearly and adequately related to the areas of responsibility
- Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be considered with applicants that possesses one or more of the following:
- Hold Georgia professional educator certification
- Expertise in State and Federal regulations
- Experience managing personnel
- Experience implementing comprehensive school reform programs
- Experience with and knowledge of consolidating federal, state, and local funds
- Successful experience with designing, planning, developing, and conducting professional learning programs
- Experience with state procurement and purchasing
- Highly effective interpersonal, group, verbal, and written communication skills
- Experience in data analysis and interpretation using a variety of software solutions
- Demonstrate success in self-motivation/initiative and leadership and the continuous improvement process
- Demonstrated success in collaborating with colleagues, school personnel, staff, students, and other support agencies or organizations
- Ability to manage multiple, overlapping, high-priority tasks
- Occasional statewide travel may be required.
