Job DescriptionThe Aerospace, Transportation, and Advanced Systems (ATAS) Laboratory is seeking an Aerospace Student Assistant for Spring 2025. The Student Assistant will assist in experimental aerodynamic and acoustics projects. Tasks include setup, alignment and high speed video acquisition of a schlieren visualization system; acquisition with microphone and pressure sensors; data reduction and plotting. Additional activities may include mechanical design and assembly of test fixtures for experiments and operation of jet noise test facilities.
Required Minimum QualificationsStudent Assistant/Research Assistant
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
- Must be registered for at least 6 credit hours with your university
- 2.5 or higher cumulative GPA
- Experience in Matlab, Solidworks and Labview
- Familiarity with signal processing concepts
- Hands-on mechanical work experience
- Willingness to both work on teams and progress tasks independently
- Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas
10-20 hours per week
