Job Description
Georgia Tech Research Institute's Sensors and Electromagnetic Applications Laboratory (SEAL) seeks an intern to join our Spectrum Warfare Operations and Research Division (SWORD) team for Summer 2025. Students will assist Research Engineers in various Hardware Development related tasks. Students should be interested in learning about aircraft electronics, radio frequency system / testing, embedded software development, Linux operating systems, digital signal processing, and software defined radios (SDR) technology.

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Persons.

Job Description

SWORD Performs
- EW system design and rapid prototyping development;
- Electromagnetic attack (EA), electromagnetic support (ES), and electromagnetic protection (EP) technique design, assessment, and implementation;
- Operational concept development and analysis
- Planning and execution of advanced EW testing and training with frequent deployments to U.S. open-air test ranges
- Assessment and improvement of U.S. radar system EP capabilities
Required Minimum Qualifications
Intern
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related major
- 2.0 or higher cumulative GPA
- Full-Time Intern- Must be registered for Full-time Internship Credit
- Part-Time Intern– Must be registered for 6 credit hours
- Task/team leadership experience
- Strong math skills and ability to learn complex engineering concepts
- Familiarity with office applications including Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, and Excel
- Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas
- Knowledgeable in programming languages (Python, C, C , Verilog/VHDL)
- Experience working with Linux operating system and command line environments
- Experience with radio / microwave circuit test equipment including network / spectrum analyzers and signal generators
- Software Defined Radio (SDR) experience
- Ability to obtain a secret clearance
- Ability to quickly learn new skills and tools
