Georgia Tech Office of Development (DEV)

Led by the Vice President for the Office of Development, Jim Hall (https : / / www.linkedin.com / in / jim-hall-913270131 / ), our fundraising team at Georgia Tech currently consists of more than 100 professionals who are focused on securing transformative philanthropy (major and principal gifts) to support the strategic priorities of the Institute and its colleges, schools, and programs, including Georgia Tech Athletics. Job Summary

The Financial Associate provides day-to-day financial & accounting support for the Office of Development. The position will prepare, process, and maintain budgeting and accounting data, and prepare reports for various business units within Development. Typically involving processing and maintenance that requires application of accounting practices, adhering and proposing standards of operation, policies, protocols, and procedures to ensure compliant, effective, and efficient operations.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -

Performs data entry in spreadsheets and databases, including running month-end financial and procurement reports. Collect, reconcile and audit monthly unit expense transactions.

Job Duty 2 -

Assists with special projects, including compiling and analyzing portions of reports per prescribed direction.

Job Duty 3 -

Process, maintain and reconcile transactions in enterprise system.

Job Duty 4 -

Answer inquiries and provide information to faculty, students, staff and the public on fiscal policies and procedures.

Job Duty 5 -

Prepare or assist in preparing various financial or administrative reports

Job Duty 6 -

Assist with audits and ensuring financial practices comply with regulatory standards. Provide advice and direction as needed to Office of Development support staff relating to travel expenses, check requests and p-card statements.

Job Duty 7 -

Coordinate and process vendor payments.

Job Duty 8 -

Review and process departmental travel expense submissions for accuracy prior to submission. Process departmental travel requests to include review for accuracy and appropriate supporting documentation.

Job Duty 9 -

Adhere, propose, and ensure standards of operation, policies, protocols, and procedures to ensure compliant, effective, and efficient operations.

Job Duty 10 -

Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

Associate's or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience; advanced certification may be preferred or required.

Salary Range : $19.98 - $27.17

SKILLS

This job requires working knowledge of and skill in applying general accounting principles and

practices within a university business environment. Additionally required are attention to detail and

accuracy and use of office and specialized accounting related computer applications.
