Department Information
Stamps Health Services is an outpatient ambulatory care center that provides health care and health education to students and their spouses/domestic partners. The center is located in a state-of-the-art, 40,000-square-foot facility within the Joseph Brown Whitehead Building, next to our Campus Recreation Center. Stamps Health Services provides care in six areas: Primary care, Women's health, Psychiatry, Travel/Immunization/Allergy, Pharmacy, and Diagnostic Services (lab and radiology).

Job Summary

Provides medical treatment to women, focusing on issues related to the reproductive system. Performs annual testing and exams, diagnose illnesses and infections, treat hormonal abnormalities, prescribe medication and counsel patients about birth control or fertility options. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: SHS staff, patients and GT community. This position typically will advise and counsel: same as above. This position will supervise: N/A

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Diagnoses and treats diseases and disorders of female genital, urinary, and rectal organs: Examines patient to determine medical problem, utilizing physical findings, diagnostic images, laboratory test results, and patient's statements as diagnostic aids

Job Duty 2 -
Perform procedures including colposcopy, IUD insertions, minor surgery, etc.

Job Duty 3 -
Refer patients for specialized treatment when appropriate

Job Duty 4 -
Provide consultative care and education to patients as appropriate

Job Duty 5 -
Participate in continuing medical education programs and maintain licensure

Job Duty 6 -
Evaluate existing health care policies, programs and services; make recommendations for improvement

Job Duty 7 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience
Two years post-residency experience

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification At least 2 years student health experience Outpatient GYN procedures Treatment of general medical ambulatory care problems to women; oral and written communications; competencies in performance evaluation, peer review, continuing medical education, patient satisfaction reports, medical emergency response , high risk audits, infection control review, unanticipated adverse events, pain management, preceptorship, confidentiality review, mission/vision values review, right-to-know, HIPAA and multiculturalism Experience with electronic health record
