Department Information

The Institute for Matter and Systems (IMS), an Interdisciplinary Research Institute at Georgia Tech, solves societal, technological, and scientific challenges by integrating knowledge, methods, and expertise across disciplines:

  • Fundamental science to comprehend and control matter from the nanoscale to the mesoscale.
  • The synthesis, processing, and characterization of materials to achieve desired properties.
  • The design and fabrication of novel devices and components with enhanced capabilities.
  • The integration of materials, devices, and components into larger systems.
  • Computing, modeling, simulation, and big data to advance progress at all length scales.
  • Integration of economic, business, and social factors to ensure sustainable and equitable benefits in all stages of research, from conceptualization to impact.

IMS enables interdisciplinary research in areas including:

  • Microelectronic technologies that efficiently sense, process, store, and communicate information while addressing issues related to security, privacy, and inequality.
  • Built environment technologies for sectors such as automotive, infrastructure and energy that enhance strength, sustainability, reliability, resiliency, and efficiency.
  • Human-centric technologies that improve human health, wellness, and performance.
  • Frontiers in research infrastructure such as characterization, modeling, simulation, and artificial intelligence that impact numerous technologies.

The Georgia Electronic Design Center (GEDC) is a research center within IMS. The Program Support Coordinator will support both the GEDC and the National Science
Foundation Industry-University Cooperative Research Center, "Electronic and Photonic Integrated Circuits for Aerospace" (EPICA). The GEDC is one of the world's largest research centers focused on the advancement of high-speed electronics and photonics for broadband, mixed-signal devices, circuits, and systems. The GEDC is an industry-centric center with our faculty working on a large range of industry challenges and has over 15 faculty and 100 graduate students.

EPICA is a multi-university effort, funded by both the NSF and Industry, that involves faculty from multiple Georgia Tech schools, with a shared mission of enabling the use of integrated photonics and electronics for aerospace and space-borne applications. Job Summary

Coordinate and provide professional and administrative support for targeted programs and/or projects and unit initiatives. This position will interact on a regular basis with: Faculty and staff. This position typically will advise and counsel: Faculty and staff. This position will supervise: NA.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Plan, execute and provide assistance for meeting and event logistics and scheduling

Job Duty 2 -
Establish schedules, oversee arrangements and provide logistics support for targeted programs and/or projects and unit initiatives

Job Duty 3 -
Evaluate, assess and report on the feasibility and sustainability of potential programs, projects and initiatives

Job Duty 4 -
Provide necessary support related to the identification and execution of adopted unit programs/projects and other unit initiatives

Job Duty 5 -
Develop, arrange/coordinate meetings and project materials for distribution, as necessary

Job Duty 6 -
Compile, organize and analyze data for use in reports for targeted programs/projects and other unit initiatives

Job Duty 7 -
Monitor and update appropriate stakeholders of progress/milestones for program/project objectives

Job Duty 8 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Technical Diploma, Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience
Three to five years job related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Workday.

SKILLS
Excellent written and verbal communication, customer service and organization skills. The ability to prioritize tasks, work independently and/or within a team environment.
