Job Summary
The Institute for Bioengineering and Bioscience (IBB) is seeking a full-time Research Scientist for the Marcus Center for Therapeutic Cell Characterization and Manufacturing (MC3M). MC3M offers a unique research environment that brings together bioengineers, bioprocess / manufacturing engineers, and industrial engineers to work closely with cell biologists, clinicians, and industry partners to ultimately make cell therapy manufacturing reliable, reproducible, and amenable for broad clinical use. Our researchers are a distinct team with various skill sets that complement the many research projects that perform high-throughput and high-dimensional analyses, develop performance assays, integrate cell manufacturing technologies, and use multivariate predictive modeling to achieve our goals.
We are looking for a bio-scientist, bio-engineer, or related early career professional to join our multidisciplinary team to help achieve our mission of being a premier authority of cell characterization, cell manufacturing, and scale-up process development. Our research currently focuses on multi-omic analyses for characterization and performance evaluation of cell therapies and immunotherapies including MSCs, T cell, and CAR T cells.
The ideal individual has experience with cell culture, cell-based functional performance assays, and other cell characterization methods (e.g. flow or mass cytometry, ELISA, Luminex) and is looking for a lab-based position.
Experience with any of the following is a plus but not a requirement : T cell or mesenchymal stem cell research, automation, bioreactors, cell therapy, RNA / DNA, working in GMP / GLP-compliant settings, working in a project team environment.
Most importantly, we are seeking a motivated individual who is flexible, detail oriented, able to learn quickly and work in a team environment while growing in their role.
