Staff / Underwriting Accountant Description
- Completes general accounting functions, including research, report / spreadsheet preparation, and analysis.
- Updates client / agent billing information in the underwriting system.
- Applies payments to client accounts.
- Researches and corrects payment issues (checks and credit cards).
- Answers billing-related phone calls from clients / agents.
- Prepares and analyzes accounting data by processing and interpreting accounts such as general ledgers and sub-ledgers.
- Reviews, investigates and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries and reports.
- Carries out ad hoc reports / assignments as needed.
- Develops and maintains strong working relationships with internal departments.
- Other tasks as assigned by management.
