Georgian Court University has an opening for Adjunct Faculty in History for the Fall 2025 semester (beginning September 1), in Bayville, NJ. Teach 1-2 sections of World History Survey I. Appreciation for students enrolled in dual high school/university courses is essential.
HST-120 Survey of World History 1 (1-2 sections)
This a part-time, non-tenure track position which is appointed on a per semester basis.
Essential Functions:
- Teach 3 or more credits per semester of history courses.
- Provide reasonable office hours for students.
- Follow course syllabi provided.
- Complete formal course assessment report at the end of the semester.
- Integrate the core values of respect, compassion, integrity, justice and service in all aspects of interaction.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in History, Ph.D. preferred.
- Evidence of teaching excellence in college-level history courses.
- Strong course evaluations and/or strong recommendations from supervisors.
- Must complete end of the semester course assessments for courses taught.
- Willingness to follow the department's syllabi.
- Experience with course management systems, such as Blackboard.
- Willingness to complete Blackboard Ultra training program (online or on Lakewood campus) before classes begin
