Job Summary
The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) plays a vital role in supporting patients with daily living activities and ensuring their comfort and well-being. This position is ideal for individuals who are compassionate, patient, and dedicated to providing high-quality care in various settings such as teaching hospitals, clinics, and outpatient facilities. The PCA will work closely with healthcare professionals to assist patients in both inpatient and outpatient environments. The Personal Care Assistant will provide transpirtation for the client at least 1 to 2 times a week
Duties
- Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
- Provide support to nursing staff by preparing patients for examinations and procedures.
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to the healthcare team.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols.
- Help patients with mobility needs, including transferring them safely from bed to wheelchair or other areas.
- Document patient care activities accurately in accordance with facility policies.
- Engage with patients to provide companionship and emotional support during their stay.
- Provide Transportation 1 to 2 times a week.
Skills
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology related to hospital medicine and care settings.
- Experience or familiarity with various care environments such as inpatient units, outpatient clinics, and surgical settings is preferred.
- Compassionate approach towards patient care with a focus on enhancing the quality of life for individuals in need of assistance.
- Ability to adapt to different clinical settings including medical-surgical units, ORs, PICUs, and Level I Trauma Centers.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
