We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of care. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, ensuring they receive the assistance necessary for daily activities and personal care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in emergency medicine, geriatrics, or hospital settings, and will be committed to delivering high-quality care in various environments, including clinics and trauma centers. The personal care assistant will provide transportation 1 to 2 times a week for the client.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Monitor and document clients' health status and report any changes to healthcare professionals.
- Administer medications as prescribed and ensure adherence to care plans.
- Assist with mobility and transportation needs, ensuring client safety at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the client’s living space.
- Support clients during medical appointments or procedures in various settings including clinics, Level I and Level II Trauma Centers, and inpatient facilities.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
- Provide Transportation 1 to 2 times a week
Requirements
- Previous experience in a personal care assistant role or similar position is preferred.
- Knowledge of emergency medicine practices and protocols is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with geriatrics and hospital medicine is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments such as PICU or OR settings.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Compassionate nature with a commitment to providing high-quality care.
- Must be able to pass background checks as required by healthcare regulations.
- Certification in CPR or First Aid is preferred but not mandatory.
