Responsibilities:
- Lead field crews in Boundary & Topographic Surveys, Construction Layout, As-Built Surveys, Route Surveys, Bathymetric Surveys, and more
- Utilize advanced surveying equipment, including Trimble total stations, GPS units, and laser scanners
- Establish control networks, recover boundary monumentation, and conduct site calibrations
- Maintain accurate field notes, sketches, and data logs, ensuring quality control
- Train and mentor team members to develop their technical skills
- Maintain company vehicles and survey equipment, ensuring proper use and care
- Promote a strong safety culture by identifying risks, conducting safety meetings, and ensuring compliance
Qualifications:
- 5 years of field experience, with at least 2 years in a Survey Crew/Party Chief role
- Proficiency with Trimble GPS (Static and RTK), Trimble Access, and total stations
- Experience with (or willingness to learn) Trimble laser scanners
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. and navigate challenging terrain as needed
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record
Work Environment & Travel:
- Travel to field project sites as needed (75-100%)
- Requires physical effort, including lifting, carrying, and working in various field conditions
