The Communications Specialist will support the MCICOM G-7 Communications Strategy & Operations (COMMSTRAT) branch. The role involves advising leadership on communication strategies, integrating communication plans, and developing written and visual content to inform key stakeholders. The primary location for this position is at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA, with the option for a hybrid work schedule available.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct research and analyze the communication environment to inform decision-making, planning, and execution.
• Identify key audiences, stakeholders, and public perspectives for effective communication planning.
• Develop and implement communication strategies, campaigns, and plans that align with MCICOM objectives.
• Advise commanders and staff on communication matters during policy development, operational planning, and execution of communication tactics.
• Create and distribute communication products such as news releases, fact sheets, and digital content to support MCICOM messaging.
• Develop written products including news features, personality features, press releases, fact sheets, and other information materials.
• Monitor and evaluate communication efforts to ensure effectiveness and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Support crisis communication planning and response efforts, including developing pre-approved messaging.
• Participate in the development of communication training materials for MCICOM personnel.

The following are requirements of the Communications Specialist:
• Bachelor's Degree with 4 to 10 years of specialized experience or Master's Degree.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Clearance.
• Experience in public affairs, digital engagement, or public relations.
• Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency in developing and implementing communication strategies and plans.
• Experience in creating written content for various media platforms.
• Ability to work independently and proactively to take initiative to solve complex problems.
• Demonstrated experience in completing projects on teams comprised of participants with diverse backgrounds.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other relevant communication tools.
• Familiarity with government or military communication strategies is preferred.
