The GIS Intelligence Data Manager for NATO (SHAPE) will be responsible for publishing geospatial services, performing GIS-based data analysis, curating metadata, and ensuring effective communication with stakeholders across various technical domains. The position’s primary location is onsite at NATO Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) near Mons, Belgium.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage a diverse range of location-based intelligence data, including vector data, imagery, and elevation data, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reliability for operational use.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to capture, design, and integrate GIS services requirements, ensuring that solutions meet both business and technical needs.
• Lead efforts to publish geospatial services from multiple data owners, facilitating seamless access and availability of geospatial data as a service across the organization.
• Provide expert guidance on the architecture and management of GEO Intelligence (GEOINT) related data, focusing on embedding data and services into larger systems and workflows to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
• Conduct in-depth GIS-based data analysis to uncover valuable insights and capture analytical requirements that support decision-making processes and operational objectives.
• Utilize advanced metadata tools to curate, analyze, and streamline spatial relations, ensuring comprehensive, high-quality metadata for all geospatial data assets.
• Facilitate clear and efficient communication with all stakeholders, including architecture specialists, data owners, system owners, managers, and users, ensuring alignment and understanding of data initiatives and goals.

The following are requirements of the GIS Intelligence Data Manager:
• US Citizen and ability to obtain and maintain a NATO Secret Clearance.
• Master’s degree in Engineering or 10 years of professional experience in geospatial data management and GIS.
• Strong emphasis on Intelligence-Related data with substantive working experience within or related to intelligence bodies is essential.
• Advanced knowledgeable in ESRI Software and Web Technologies.
• Advanced knowledge and hands on experience with Data Processing.
• Native English speaking.
The annual base salary range for this position is anticipated to be $95,000-$105,000 USD. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position (the final budget has not yet been released by NATO). Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
