GeoSpectrum is growing and has a new career opportunity for an experienced Field Service Technician!
As a Field Service Technician, youll be installing, commissioning, servicing, and operating sonar systems at both local test facilities and on offsite customer vessels. Youll be part of a diverse, multi-disciplinary program team and work directly with subcontractors and customer representatives. When youre not in the field, you will help plan field operation logistics, maintain equipment in our factory, and take on other related tasks. This position will require frequent international travel, some of which may be at short notice.

Responsibilities
- Safely install and maintain computer systems as part of sonar systems on customer vessels, both locally and internationally.
- Become an expert in the features, operation, and maintenance of GeoSpectrum sonar systems.
- Train customer teams on installation and operations, often bridging language and cultural gaps.
- Support commissioning, operation, testing or demonstrating sonar equipment at sea.
- Test and troubleshoot computer systems and networking in the field.
- Coordinate logistics for field activities, both local and international
- Develop and maintain documentation, processes, and procedures for field service activities and field-based configuration control.
- Develop and maintain tools and equipment to support field service activities.
- Provide remote technical support to customers and other field service technicians when not in the field.
Qualifications
- CCNA certification or equivalent.
- A certification for technical support and IT operations.
- At least 2 years of experience as a Linux systems administrator.
- Must hold a valid Canadian passport.
- Ability to meet foreign country entry requirements.
- Willingness to travel on short notice and for extended periods, any time of the year.
- Self-motivated with a strong drive to complete tasks.
- Capable of working in a dynamic environment and developing procedures where needed.
- Proactive communicator, both internally and with clients.
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Experience in building, testing, and troubleshooting computer and network hardware.
Security Requirements
