This person is responsible for the overall management of the yard. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the scheduling, ordering, repair, and disbursement of equipment and supplies. This person will also be responsible for the maintenance of the office and yard facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Perform selected office facility maintenance and is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the yard, parking areas and buildings. This includes the unlocking of the yard gates early in the morning and locking at night. This includes picking up trash, replacing light bulbs, grass maintenance, etc.
- Oversee the shop operation including fabrications and equipment maintenance/repairs.
- Maintain the schedule and delivery of all owned or rented equipment and supplies to jobsites. This individual will load equipment, supplies, and materials onto trucks.
- This individual will then inspect all equipment and supplies for damage and repair once returned them as required.
- Manages yard personnel as assigned.
- Supervise heavy equipment master mechanics and repair shop operations.
- Track equipment hours and maintenance schedules.
- Performs weekly and monthly inventory reports.
- Responsible for securing all needed equipment for the company.
- Responsible for making sure that all equipment is in good condition and is always functional.
- Assures that all materials are well maintained and well repaired.
- Makes the budget and searches various equipment in cases of upgrading those for the betterment of the company.
- Manages the requisitions of new equipment.
- Makes the inventory of those equipment’s and assures that these are highly available.
- Inspects all equipment to make assurance that it is clean and functional.
- Provides a storage place for all the equipment.
Minimum skills and qualifications:
- Certified master mechanic for heavy equipment with minimum 10 years’ experience (preferred)
- Excellent management skills with minimum 10 years’ experience
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft office
- Updated on the latest technologies in the market in case of upgrading or replacing equipment.
