Overview
We are seeking an International Code Council (ICC) certified building inspector who is detail-oriented and knowledgeable Building Inspector to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that construction projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations. You will conduct inspections of buildings and structures at various stages of construction, renovation, or repair, ensuring quality control and adherence to safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in blueprint reading, quality inspection, and construction management.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of construction sites to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
- Review blueprints and schematics to understand project specifications and requirements.
- Monitor the quality of materials used in construction projects and ensure they meet industry standards.
- Collaborate with contractors and builders to discuss inspection findings and recommend necessary changes.
- Collect research data related to building practices and safety regulations.
- Document inspection results and prepare detailed reports outlining compliance or violations.
- Stay updated on changes in building codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
Requirements
- MUST HAVE: ICC Certifiction
- Proven experience in building inspection or a related field such as construction management or quality control.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and quality inspection processes.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and understanding schematics.
- Excellent observational skills with attention to detail for identifying potential issues on construction sites.
- Ability to conduct research data collection effectively to support inspection findings.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with contractors, builders, and other stakeholders.
- Familiarity with contract management related to construction projects is a plus.
