Job Description
Under supervision, performs routine analytical tasks within a research and development laboratory.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine analytical testing, operate laboratory equipment, and utilize current Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
- Prepare samples and perform analysis using appropriate techniques for the research and development program.
- Assist with or perform routine chemical and metallurgical analyses.
- Safely handle various chemical reagents.
- Maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
- Execute administrative duties, including ordering supplies, departmental communications, and site interactions (both verbal and written).
- Accurately collect and report results.
- Assist in the training of laboratory personnel.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- Demonstrate effective communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and basic mathematical skills for routine calculations.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- One year of direct laboratory experience OR an Associate's degree with six months of related laboratory experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office or similar software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One year of mechanical/maintenance experience.
- Experience with LIMS/STARLIMS.
- Experience working with chemicals.
- Experience with laboratory equipment (e.g., ph/ORP, auto-titrators, viscometers, particle analysis).
- Prior analytical and/or research and development laboratory or mining experience preferred but not required.
