Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to support our industrial minerals laboratory.
Main Responsibilities
- Cutting drill core on a wet core saw is a critical component of this role.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting drill core from the office to the laboratory in a safe and efficient manner.
- Sample preparation is a key aspect of this position, involving sampling drill cores at predetermined intervals.
- Drying drill core samples in a drying oven requires attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- The ability to crush drill core samples on a jaw crusher is essential for effective sample preparation.
- Screening and bagging samples for shipping involves strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- A current MSHA Surface Certification is required for this role.
- Previous laboratory or geological experience is preferred but not necessary.
- The successful candidate must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Able to work in wet and/or dusty conditions - personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential for success in this role.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety best practices is a must.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions is also required.
