GEOTEMPS, INC. is currently looking for a LIFEGUARD for our valued client in Morenci, Arizona. This individual must have a commitment to teamwork, safety and following policy and protocol. This opportunity is best suited for an individual who is comfortable as a lifeguard and performing public safety work in preventing injuries in the municipal pool facility.

Under general supervision, ensures the safety of patrons of an aquatic facility by preventing and responding to emergencies. Duties include preventing accidents, and effectively enforcing pool rules and regulations.

Responsibilities:
- Teach various ages basic swimming skills, water comfort, and water safety
- Perform swim tests on individuals and recommend the appropriate level
- Fill out report cards in a timely manner and create class rosters
- Function as part of a Team in an emergency or assist in handling incidents/accidents in Aquatics areas.
- Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
Must be able to pass a swim test which includes:
- Step in deep water
- Tread water for 1 minute
- Turn 360 and swim a 25-meter swim (across the deep end and back)
- Exit the pool using the pool edge only
- High School diploma or GED
- Teaching experience and working with children
- American Red Cross Lifeguarding, First Aide, CPR, and AED certification
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Skill in applications of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical skills evaluation as stipulated by the department.
- Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
- Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
- Knowledge of CPR and emergency medical procedures.
- Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
- Flexible schedule
- Must pass a drug/alcohol screening.
- Background and reference check
- Ability to stand, stoop, reach, bend, climb, lift, pull, and swim while in swimwear.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to see and hear in the normal range, with or without correction.
- Must have the stamina to work long hours and overtime.
- Must be able to hold your breath for a decent amount of time.
