Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Assistant Driller to join our team. This individual will be working with vertical and directional drilling equipment on small crews of 2 or 3 other individuals. Geothermal Eco Options Inc., primarily specializes in residential and small commercial projects.
Duties
- Provide support to drill operator; maintain supply of needed materials & assistance at the drill
- Perform drilling support operations, from overseeing mud management systems, grouting and HDPE pipe installation in the borehole.
- Conduct routine maintenance on drilling equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist in moving equipment either on-site or from jobsite to jobsite.
- Monitor drilling progress and make adjustments as necessary to meet project goals.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment on the construction site.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies while performing duties.
- Travel overnight as we cover a 150 mile radius around Cresco, IA. Hotels paid for.
Experience
- Heavy equipment operation experience is a plus, but onsite training is provided.
- Familiarity with commercial driving regulations is a plus.
- Mechanical knowledge is essential for troubleshooting equipment issues.
- Experience working on small crews of 2-3.
- Proficiency with hand tools like hammer drills, saws, compactors, compressors, pumps, fusion tools and a variety of other equipment and instruments.
Requirements:
- Ability to travel overnight Monday-Thursday. Return to the shop Friday afternoon.
- Ability to work outdoors and the elements that it presents.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid drivers license -CDL is a strong plus
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical (we also do random drug testing)

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 50 – 55 per week
